House Committee on Environmental Regulation 75th Legislature April 10, 1998 10:15 am (Scheduled meeting time) Perryton High School Auditorium, 1102 South Jefferson St., Perryton Texas Pursuant to a notice posted on April 3, 1998, and revised for clarification on April 6, 1998, the House Committee on Environmental Regulation met in a public hearing and was called to order by the Chair, Representative Warren Chisum at 10:40 am. The roll was answered as follows: Present: Representatives Chisum; Jackson; Allen; Hirschi; Howard; Talton (6). Absent: Representatives Dukes; Kuempel; Puente (3). A quorum was present. Rep. David Swinford was also present. The Chair made opening statements. The committee and the public viewed The Texas Farm Commercial Sow Facility, located from the HWY 83 and HWY 15 intersection Northeast on HWY 15 for 4 miles and East on Co. Rd. F, 4 miles. The committee and the public toured the Texas Farm Commercial Nursery/Finisher facility, located South of the previous site viewed 8 miles on Co. Rd. 24. The committee and the public toured Wolfcreek Feeders, located 5.5 miles East of HWY 83 on HWY 2711. The committee and the public ate lunch at the Perryton Exposition Building, located North of the Intersection of HWY 15 and Jefferson St., in Perryton, Texas. The committee and the public toured Dean Paul #2 Farm South of Waka, Texas 4.5 miles on Co. Rd. 3. The committee and the public viewed the Texas Farm Feed Mill site, located 2 miles East of Farnsworth, Texas on HWY 15. At 3:00 pm, the Chair called roll at the Perryton High School Auditorium, located at 1102 South Jefferson St. in Perryton, Texas, which was answered as follows: Present: Representatives Chisum; Jackson; Allen; Howard; Talton (5). Absent: Representatives Dukes; Hirschi, Kuempel; Puente (3). A quorum was present. Rep. David Swinford was also present. The committee heard public testimony. Rep. Hirschi now present, and Sen. Teel Bivens was also present. The committee heard more public testimony.
