         Pursuant to a notice posted on March 7, 1997, the House 
         Committee on House Administration met in a public hearing and 
         was called to order by the Chair, Representative Tony Goolsby 
         at 8:15 am.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:  
         
        Present:   Representatives Goolsby; Luna, Vilma; Chisum; 
                   Hamric; Hawley; Maxey; Telford; Tillery (8).
         
    Absent:        Representatives Alvarado; Bailey; West, George "Buddy" 
                  (3).
         
         A quorum was present.
         
         HCR 58
         
         The chair laid out HCR 58 as pending business.  
         
         The chair recognized Representative Garnet Coleman to explain 
         the measure.  
         
         Testimony was taken.  
         
         (Representative West, George "Buddy" now present.)  
         
         The chair recognized Representative Coleman to close on the 
         measure.  
         
         Representative Luna, Vilma moved that HCR 58 be reported 
         favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do 
         pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following 
         vote:  
      Ayes:                                                  Representatives Goolsby; 
                              Luna, Vilma; Chisum; Hamric; Hawley; 
                              Maxey; Telford; Tillery; West, George 
                              "Buddy" (9).
      Nays:                                                  None (0).
 Present not Voting:                                              None (0).
         
Absent:                            Representatives Alvarado; Bailey (2).
         
         
         At 9:45 am, on the motion of the chair and without objection,
