House Committee on Judicial Affairs
         75th Legislature

         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 7, 1997, the House 
         Committee on Judicial Affairs met in a formal meeting and was 
         called to order by the Chair, Representative Senfronia Thompson 
         at 2:12 pm.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:  
         
         Present:  Representatives Thompson; Hartnett; Clark; Crabb; 
                   Garcia; Luna, Vilma; Shields; Solis (8).
         
         Absent:   Representative Zbranek (1).
         
         A quorum was present.
         
         Rep. Thompson, Chair, gave a brief overview of committee 
         procedure.     
         
         The Chair recognized Milda Mora, Chief Clerk, to give  
         additional overview of committee procedure.
         
         The Chair recognized Patrick Johnson, Committee Counsel, to give 
         additional overview of committee procedure.
         
         At 2:36 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection, 
         the Committee on Judicial Affairs adjourned.
