House Committee on Juvenile Justice and Family Issues
         75th Legislature

         Pursuant to a suspension of the 5-day posting rule on February 
         4, 1997, the House Committee on Juvenile Justice and Family 
         Issues met in a public hearing and was called to order by the 
         Chair, Representative Toby Goodman at 1:20 pm.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:  
         
         Present:  Representatives Goodman; Staples; Jones, Jesse; 
                   McClendon; McReynolds; Naishtat; Reyna, Arthur; Smith; 
                   Williams (9).
         
         Absent:   None (0).
         
         A quorum was present.
         
         The topic of discussion was an overview of the Juvenile Justice 
         System.  
         
         Testimony was taken.  
         
         See attached witness list.
         
         At 4:00 pm, on the motion of Representative Staples and without 
         objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the
