         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 1, 1997, the House  
         Committee on Pensions & Investments met in a formal meeting  
         and was called to order by the Chair, Representative Barry  
         Telford at 9:57 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Telford; Woolley; Berlanga; Rangel;  
                   Serna; Williams (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Goolsby; Sadler; Tillery (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 616 
          
         The Chair announced that due to the lack of a certified copy  
         the previous actions taken by the committee are null and void. 
          
         The chair laid out SB 616.   
          
         Representative Berlanga moved that SB 616 be reported  
         favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do  
         pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following  
         vote:   
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Telford; Woolley; Berlanga;  
                        Rangel; Serna; Williams (6). 
          
         Nays:          None (0). 
          
         Present not Voting:      None (0). 
          
         Absent:        Representatives Goolsby; Sadler; Tillery (3). 
          
         At 9:58 am, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
