Pursuant to a suspension of the 5-day posting rule on May 22,
1997, the House Committee on Pensions & Investments met in a
formal meeting and was called to order by the Chair,
Representative Barry Telford at 12:45 pm.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Telford; Berlanga; Goolsby; Rangel;
Tillery; Williams (6).
Absent: Representatives Woolley; Sadler; Serna (3).
A quorum was present.
SB 1923
The chair laid out SB 1923 as pending business.
Representative Goolsby moved that the committee substitute
laid out at the May 20, 1997 hearing be withdrawn. The
committee substitute was withdrawn without objection.
Representative Goolsby moved that the amendments to the
committee substitute offered at the May 20, 1997 hearing be
withdrawn. The amendments were withdrawn without objection.
Representative Telford offered a complete committee
substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Goolsby moved that SB1923, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Telford; Berlanga; Goolsby;
Rangel; Tillery; Williams (6).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Woolley; Sadler; Serna (3).
At 12:47 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair..
