         Pursuant to a suspension of the five day posting rule on January 
         23, 1997, the House Committee on Public Health met jointly in a 
         public hearing with the House Committees on Appropriations and 
         Human Services and was called to order by the Chair, 
         Representative Hugo Berlanga at 2:07 pm.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:  
         
         Present:  Representatives Berlanga; Hirschi; Coleman; Davila; 
                   Delisi; Glaze; Janek; Maxey; Rodriguez (9).
         
         Absent:   None (0).
         
         A quorum was present.
