Pursuant to a motion made and unanimously granted during the
formal meeting on April 15, 1997, the following are the
corrected committee minutes for the State Recreational
Resources hearing on March 5, 1997.
Pursuant to a notice posted on February 27, 1997, the House
Committee on State Recreational Resources met in a public
hearing and was called to order by the Chair, Representative
Edmund Kuempel at 8:10 am.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Kuempel; Horn; King; Merritt; Palmer
(5).
Absent: Representatives McCall; Hightower; Hilderbran; Longoria
(4).
A quorum was present.
HB 394
The chair laid out HB 394 and a complete committee substitute
to HB 394 by Representative Merritt.
The chair recognized Representative Maxey to explain the
measure.
(Representatives McCall and Hilderbran now present.)
Testimony was taken.
The chair recognized Representative Maxey to close on the
measure.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Hilderbran moved that HB 394, as substituted,
be reported favorably to the full house with the
recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion
prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Kuempel;
McCall; Hilderbran; Horn; King; Merritt;
Palmer (7).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Hightower; Longoria (2).
The Chair moved to reconsider the vote by which HB 394, as
substituted, was reported to the full house with the
recommendation that it do pass and be printed, there being no
objection the motion prevailed.
Representative Hilderbran moved that HB 394, as substituted,
be reported favorably to the full house with the
recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to
the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars. The motion
prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Kuempel;
McCall; Hilderbran; Horn; King; Merritt;
Palmer (7).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Hightower; Longoria (2).

The chair laid out HB 966.
The chair recognized Representative Oakley to explain the
measure.
Testimony was taken.
The chair recognized Representative Oakley to close on the
measure.
Representative Horn moved to refer the bill to a subcommittee
to be named later by the chair, there being no objection the
motion prevailed.

The chair laid out HB 1151.
The chair recognized Representative Greenberg to explain the
measure.
Representative Horn moved to refer the bill to a subcommittee
to be named later by the chair, there being no objection the
motion prevailed.
At 9:40 am, on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was recessed until 15 minutes after adjournment of
the House.
The committee reconvened at 12:01 pm and was called to order
by the chair, Representative Kuempel. The roll was answered
as follows:
Present: Representatives Kuempel; McCall; King; Merritt;
Palmer (5).
Absent: Representatives Hightower; Hilderbran; Horn; Longoria
(4).
A quorum was present.
HB 965
The chair laid out HB 965.
The chair recognized Representative Kamel to explain the
measure.
Representative King moved to refer the bill to a subcommittee
to be named later by the chair, there being no objection the
motion prevailed.

The chair laid out HB 203, HB 204, HB 205 and HB 206.
The chair recognized Representative Solomons to explain the
measures.
Testimony was taken.

The chair recognized Representative Solomons to close on the
measures.
Representative Palmer moved to refer the bills to a
subcommittee to be named later by the chair, there being no
objection the motion prevailed.
At 1:46 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
