         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 5, 1997 and a subsequent 
         suspension of the 5-day posting rule on February 13, 1997, the 
         House Committee on Revenue & Public Education Funding, Select 
         met in a public hearing and was called to order by the Chair, 
         Representative Paul Sadler at 11:15 am.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:  
         
         Present:  Representatives Sadler; Hilbert; Brimer; Chisum; 
                   Hernandez; Junell; Stiles; Williamson (8).
         
         Absent:   Representatives Craddick; Hochberg; Wilson (3).
         
         A quorum was present.
         
         HB 4 and HJR 4
         
         The committee resumed consideration of HB 4 and HJR 4.
         
         Testimony was taken.  See attached witness list.
