         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 13, 1997, the House 
         Committee on Revenue & Public Education Funding, Select met in a 
         public hearing and was called to order by the Chair, 
         Representative Paul Sadler at 10:10 am.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:  
         
         Present:  Representatives Sadler; Hilbert; Brimer; Craddick; 
                   Hernandez; Hochberg; Junell; Stiles (8).
         
         Absent:   Representatives Chisum; Williamson; Wilson (3).
         
         A quorum was present.

         The committee resumed consideration of HB 4.
