Pursuant to a notice posted on February 12, 1997, the House
Committee on Transportation met in a public hearing and was
called to order by the Chair, Representative Clyde Alexander, at
3:05 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Alexander; Siebert; Edwards; Finnell;
Hawley; Hill; Uher (7).
Absent: Representatives Hartnett; Pickett (2).
A quorum was present.
HB 979
The chair laid out HB 979.
The chair recognized Representative Rob Junell to explain the
measure.
Testimony was taken.
The chair recognized Representative Alexander to close on the
measure.
Representative Siebert moved that HB 979 be reported favorably
to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be
printed. The motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Alexander; Siebert; Edwards; Hawley;
Hill; Uher (6).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Finnell; Hartnett; Pickett (3).

The chair recognized Representative Fred Bosse to explain the
measure.

Representative Hawley moved that HCR 38 be reported favorably to
the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be
printed. The motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Alexander; Siebert; Edwards; Finnell;
Hawley; Hill; Pickett; Uher (8).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representative Hartnett (1).

At the request of Representative Charles Finnell, the chairman
instructed the staff to include the following statement in the
record:
"Rep. Finnell, a member of the House Appropriations Committee
also, was participating in the consideration of HB 1 by Junell
(in E1.030) at the time that HB 979 was voted on in the
Transportation Committee."
At 3:47 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
