         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 15,  
         1997, the House Committee on Transportation met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the Chair, Representative  
         Clyde Alexander at 4:42 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Alexander; Edwards; Hartnett;  
                   Hawley; Pickett; Uher (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Siebert; Finnell; Hill (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         H.B. 2797 
          
         The chair laid out H.B. 2797 as pending business.   
          
         Representative Alexander offered a complete committee  
         substitute.   
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         (Representative Siebert now present.)   
          
         Representative Alexander moved that H.B. 2797, as substituted,  
         be reported favorably to the full house with the  
         recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion  
         prevailed by the following vote:

                        Hawley; Pickett; Uher (6). 
          
         Nays:          None (0). 
          
         Present not Voting:      None (0).

         The chair laid out H.B. 3246 as pending business.   
          
         Representative Siebert moved that H.B. 3246 be reported  
         favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do  
  
         pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and  
         Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following  
         vote:

                        Hartnett; Hawley; Pickett; Uher (7). 
          
         Nays:          None (0). 
          
         Present not Voting:      None (0).

         The chair laid out H.B. 1437 as pending business.

         substitute.
