Pursuant to a notice posted on May 2, 1997, the House
Committee on Transportation met in a public hearing and was
called to order by the Chair, Representative Clyde Alexander
at 9:05 a.m.
The roll was answered as follows:

Absent: Representatives Edwards; Hawley; Uher (3).

The chair explained the measure for its House sponsor, Rep.
John Longoria.

The chair closed on the measure.
Representative Siebert moved that S.B. 1849 be reported
favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do
pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and
Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following
vote:
