Pursuant to a notice posted on March 7, 1997, the House
Committee on Ways & Means met in a public hearing and was
called to order by the Chair, Representative Tom Craddick
at 4:07 pm.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Craddick; Ramsay; Grusendorf;
Heflin; Horn; Thompson (6).
Absent: Representatives Holzheauser; Oliveira; Stiles;
Telford; Williamson (5).
A quorum was present.
HB 495
The chair laid out HB 495 as pending business.
The chair recognized Representative Horn to explain the
measure.
Testimony was taken.
Representative Craddick offered a complete committee
substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
The chair recognized Representative Horn to close on the
measure.
Representative Grusendorf moved that HB 495, as
substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with
the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The
motion prevailed by the following vote:
