         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.11, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on  
         Administration was held on Tuesday, March 11, 1997 in E1.714  
         Admin. Comte. Office, at Austin, Texas.

         The Chair called the meeting to order at 7:50 pm.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted.   
          
         Senator Harris asked if there were any questions or discussion  
         on any of the bills listed for certification on the Local and  
         Uncontested Calendar.  There was discussion.  Senator Mike  
         Moncrief moved to certify all bills on the list (attached)  
         with the exception of SB 215 and SB 294.  The motion carried  
         with a vote of 6 ayes, and 1 absent.   
          
         There being no further business, at 8:20 am Senator Harris  
         moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of  
         the Chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
