The Chair announced that HB 1638, at the request of its author, would not be heard. The Chair laid out SJR 47 and recognized the author, Senator Sibley, to explain the bill. The Committee stood at ease in order to allow examination of the rules in relation to the inquiry. The Committee reconvened and Senator Madla withdrew his point of order, thus waiving his request for a ruling at the present time. Senator Lindsay sent up Committee Amendment 1. The Chair closed public testimony and referred SB 1434 and SJR 40 to the Subcommittee on City/County Consolidation for further consideration.
