         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.11, a public hearing of the Senate Interim Finance  
         Subcommittee on Article III Agencies was held on Thursday,  
         January 29, 1998 in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at  
         Austin, Texas.

         After standing in recess on January 28, 1998, the committee  
         reconvened at 9:00 a.m. to transact the following business:   
          
         Chairman Moncrief called on the following witness to provide  
         testimony regarding committee charges and answer questions of  
         the committee: 
          
              John Howe, M.D., representing the University of Texas  
              Health Science Center - San Antonio, provided oral  
              testimony.  (Written testimony was submitted prior to the  
              committee hearing date.) 
          
         There being no further business, at 9:30 a.m. Senator Moncrief  
         announced that the Committee would stand recessed subject to  
         the call of the Chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
