Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule
11.11, a public hearing of the Senate Interim Finance
Subcommittee on Articles IV and V was held on Monday, May 18,
1998, in the Senate Finance Committee Room, Capitol Extension,
Room E1.036, Austin, Texas.

The Chair called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m.
There being a quorum present, the following business was
transacted:
Chairman Wentworth called representatives from the
Article V agencies to answer questions of the committee
regarding the committee charges. Invited witnesses appeared
as follows:
Brigadier General Wayne D. Marty, Assistant Adjutant General
for Army, Adjutant General's Department, provided oral and
written testimony.

The committee recessed for lunch at 12:30 p.m. and reconvened
at 1:55 p.m.

There being no further business, at 2:40 p.m., Chairman
Wentworth announced that the Senate Interim Committee on
Articles IV and V would stand recessed subject to the call of
the Chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
