         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 
         11.11, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Nominations 
         was held on Tuesday, March 4, 1997 in the Senate Chamber at 
         Austin, Texas.

         The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:10 am.  There being 
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted.  
         
         The Chairman laid out the names of the nominees for the Texas 
         Health Care Information Council.
         
         Senator Lindsay introduced nominee, Gail D. Neas.
         
         Senator Brown introduced nominees, Dr. Nelda P. Wray and Dr. 
         Arthur Garson.
         
         Senator Lucio introduced nominee, Norma S. Garza.
         
         Chairman Madla introduced nominee, Dr. Ronald T. Luke.
         
         Senator Wentworth introduced nominees, Christine M.B. Mitchell 
         and Dr. Robert E. Schorlemor.
         
         Chairman Madla introduced nominees, Mary W. Puckett, Susan M. 
         Nelson, and Dresdene Flynn-White.
         
         Senator Patterson introduced nominee, D. B. Whittington.
         
         The Chairman left the nominees to the Texas Health Care 
         Information Council pending. 
 
         





         
         There being no further business, at 11:15 am Senator Madla moved 
         that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the 
         Chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
