Brown Senator Mario Gallegos, Jr. Senator Tom Haywood ***** The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:55 pm. The Chair laid out the names of the nominees for the Texas Board of Health. Senator Lucio introduced nominee, Mario R. Anzaldua, M.D. Senator Galloway introduced nominees, Kent M. Adams and Walter D. Wilkerson, Jr., M.D. At 3:30 pm, Senator Gallegos moved to consider and report to the Senate with the recommendation that the nominees for the Texas Board of Health be confirmed. Senator Shapiro seconded the motion. The Chair asked the Committee Members for unanimous consent to show Senators Brown and Haywood as voting aye. There being no objection, Senators Brown and Haywood were shown voting aye. The motion carried with a vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent. The Chair laid out the names of the nominees for the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation Board of Directors. Senator Ellis introduced nominee, Alfred Jackson. The Chair introduced nominees, W. Bruce Robinson, Jorja L. Kimball, Jane Phipps, and Ruben E. Esquivel. The Chair laid out the names of the nominees for the Texas Workers' Compensation Commission. The Chair introduced nominee, Jack E. Abla. Senator Barrientos introduced nominee, Richard F. Reynolds. The Chair and Senator Wentworth introduced nominees, Joel B. Terrill and Rebecca F. Olivares. At 4:32 pm, Senator Barrientos moved to consider and report to the Senate with the recommendation that the nominees for the Texas Workers' Compensation Commission be confirmed. Senator Gallegos seconded the motion. The Chair asked the Committee Members for unanimous consent to show Senator Haywood as voting aye. There being no objection, Senator Haywood was shown voting aye. The motion carried with a vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent. At 4:33 pm, Senator Gallegos moved to consider and report to the Senate with the recommendation that the nominees for the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation Board of Directors be confirmed. Senator Barrientos seconded the motion. The Chair asked the Committee Members for unanimous consent to show Senator Haywood as voting aye. At 4:35 pm, Senator Gallegos moved to consider and report to the Senate with the recommendation that the nominees for the State Board of Dental Examiners, State Employee Charitable Campaign Policy Committee, General Services Commission, Department of Information Resources Board of Directors, Board of Pilot Commissioners for the Ports of Galveston County, Pilot Commission for the Sabine Bar, Pass, and Tributaries, Texas Rehabilitation Commission, State Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, State Securities Board, Governing Committee of the Workers' Compensation Insurance Facility and Texas Workers' Compensation Insurance Fund Board of Directors be confirmed. Senator Barrientos seconded the motion. The Chair asked the Committee Members for unanimous consent to show Senator Haywood as voting aye. There being no objection, Senator Haywood was shown voting aye. The motion carried with a vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent. There being no further business, at 4:35 pm Senator Madla moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the Chair.
