The Chair laid out the names of the nominees for the Texas Public Finance Authority Board of Directors. Senator Harris introduced nominee, Daniel T. Serna. The Chair introduced nominee, Cynthia L. Meyer. Senator Ratliff introduced nominee, Joe N. Randolph, from the Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund Board. At 2:20 pm, Senator Nixon moved to consider and report to the Senate with the recommendation that the nominees for the Texas Public Finance Authority Board of Directors be confirmed. Senator Haywood seconded the motion. The motion carried with a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent. The Chair laid out the names of the nominees for the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission. Senator Brown introduced nominee, Betsy Lake. Senator Harris introduced nominee, Michael L. Williams. Senator Ogden introduced nominee, Keith H. Kuttler. Senator Haywood introduced nominee, Judge Robert P. Brotherton. At 3:00 pm, Senator Shapiro moved to consider and report to the Senate with the recommendation that the nominees for the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission be confirmed. Senator Duncan introduced nominees, Kay Karr and Gwen Stafford. Senator Barrientos introduced nominee, William B. Mitchell. The Chair introduced nominee, Roger J. Benavides. At 4:10 pm, Senator Nixon moved to consider and report to the Senate with the recommendation that the nominees for the Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund Board be confirmed. At 4:11 pm, Senator Barrientos moved to consider and report to the Senate with the recommendation that the nominee for the Commissioner of Health and Human Services be confirmed. At 4:12 pm, Senator Nixon moved to consider and report to the Senate with the recommendation that the nominees for the Coastal Water Authority Board of Directors, Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education, Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, and Texas State Board of Examiners of Social Workers be confirmed. Senator Shapiro seconded the motion. The motion carried with a vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 3 absent. There being no further business, at 4:13 pm The Chair moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the Chair.
