There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted. The Chair laid out the names of the nominees for the Texas Board on Aging. Senator Nixon introduced nominee, Miriam Burton. At 3:40 pm, Senator Nixon moved to consider and report to the Senate with the recommendation that the nominees for the Texas Board on Aging be confirmed. Senator Gallegos seconded the motion. The motion carried with a vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 3 absent. The Chair laid out the names of the nominees for the Texas State Board of Chiropractic Examiners. At 6:21 pm, Senator Nixon moved to consider and report to the Senate with the recommendation that the nominee for the State Pension Review Board be confirmed. Senator Barrientos seconded the motion. The Chair laid out the name of the nominee for the Texas Transportation Commission. Senator Nixon introduced nominee, Robert Nichols. At 6:40 pm, Senator Barrientos moved to consider and report to the Senate with the recommendation that the nominee for the Texas Transportation Commission be confirmed. At 6:40 pm, Senator Nixon moved to consider and report to the Senate with the recommendation that the nominees for the Board of Directors of the Trinity River Authority of Texas, Board of Trustees of the Texas County and District Retirement System, Employees Retirement System of Texas Board of Trustees, Teacher Retirement System of Texas Board of Trustees, and the Texas Municipal Retirement System Board of Trustees be confirmed. Senator Gallegos seconded the motion. The motion carried with a vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 3 absent. At 6:41 pm, Senator Haywood moved to consider and report to the Senate with the recommendation that the nominees for the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board, Texas Diabetes Council, Texas State Board of Public Accountancy, and the Texas Commission for the Blind be confirmed. Senator Gallegos seconded the motion. The motion carried with a vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent. There being no further business, at 6:45 pm, The Chair moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the Chair.
