The Committee began reviewing and taking action on Committee Amendments on HB 4 with record votes being taken on the following: Senator Bivins moved to adopt Committee Amendment 1, which was sent up on Monday, May 5, 1997. The motion failed by a vote of 4 ayes, 7 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent. Senator Bivins moved to adopt Committee Amendment 2, which was sent up on Monday, May 5, 1997. The motion carried with a vote of 10 ayes, 1 nay, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent. Senator Barrientos sent up Committee Amendment 4 and after explanation moved adoption of same. Senator Bivins sent up Committee Amendment 17 and a Committee Substitute to CA 17 and after explanation moved to adopt amendment, as substituted. Senator Bivins sent up Committee Amendment 24 and an amendment to CA 24 and moved adoption of Committee Amendment 24, as amended. Senator Bivins sent up a substitute amendment to Senator Shapiro's substitute. Senator Bivins moved to adopt the substitute amendment to Shapiro's Committee Amendment Substitute to Committee Amendment 31.
