Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule
11.11, a public hearing of the Long-Term Care Legislative
Oversight Committee Subcommittee on a Survey Regarding Nursing
Facilities was held on Thursday, April 30, 1998, in 2E.20 of
the Texas State Capitol at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m. There
being a quorum present, the following business was transacted.
The chair stated that due to time constraints, the minutes
from the previous subcommittee meeting had not been completed
and would be mailed to each subcommittee member for approval.
The chair announced that the purpose of the meeting was to
hear invited testimony from nursing home residents, family
members of residents, advocates, operators, owners and
owner-operators about improving the quality of life for
nursing home residents.
The following persons provided oral and written testimony:

chair's call for public testimony, the chair closed public
testimony.
With no other business to come before the subcommittee, the
chair recessed the subcommittee on a Survey Regarding Nursing
Facilities at 1:05 p.m., subject to the call of the chair.
