Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule
11.11, a public hearing of the Senate Interim Committee on
Natural Resources was held on Friday, April 24, 1998, at the
UTB/TSC Campus in Brownsville, Texas.

The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:35 am. There being
a quorum present, the following business was transacted.
Senator Lucio moved that the Minutes from the previous meeting
be approved. There being no objection, the Minutes were
adopted.
Chairman Brown made opening remarks, followed by opening
remarks by Senator Lucio, Senator Truan, and Senator Haywood.
The following people registered to testify on the interim
charge to study the siting of solid waste facilities:
