Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule
11.11, a public hearing of the Senate Interim Committee on
Natural Resources was held on Thursday, July 30, 1998 in the
Capitol Extension, Room E1.028, at Austin, Texas.

Chairman Brown called the meeting to order at 9:15 am. There
being a quorum present, the following business was transacted.
Senator Lindsay moved that the Minutes from the previous
meeting be approved. There being no objection, the Minutes
were adopted.
Chairman Brown made opening remarks.
The following people registered to testify on the interim
charge to study the siting of solid waste facilities:
