      Amend CSHB 1 by adding, under the appropriations to the
Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation (page III-72),
the following appropriately numbered rider:
      _____. CONTINGENT APPROPRIATION: OFFICE FOR PREVENTION OF
DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. Contingent on the enactment and
becoming law of HB 1151, SB 353, or similar legislation of the 76th
Legislature, Regular Session, that makes the office for the
Prevention of Developmental Disabilities administratively attached
to the Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation and
requires the Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation to
provide support for the Office for the Prevention of Developmental
Disabilities, the department shall expend, from funds otherwise
appropriated to the department by this Act, an amount not to exceed
$120,000 each fiscal year for salaries, benefits, travel expenses,
and other support of the office.
