      Amend CSHB 1 in Article XI by adding the following
appropriately numbered rider on page XI-7 after the appropriations
to the Veterans Commission:
      Rider      
      National World War II Memorial Fund. In addition to the
amounts appropriated above, $830,000 in general revenue is
appropriated to the Veterans Commission for the 2000-2001 biennium
to make a donation to the American Battle Monuments Commission for
the purpose of construction of the National World War II Memorial.
The Veterans Commission is authorized to forward the sum of
$830,000 to the American Battle Monuments Commission at such time
that 70 percent of the estimated cost of construction of the
National World War II Memorial Fund of the American Battle
Monuments Commission, and upon receipt of documentation from the
American Battle Monuments Commission confirming that 70 percent of
the estimated cost has been collected or committed.
