      Amend CSHB 1 as follows:  Add the following rider in Article
11 of the bill under the Article 11 Appropriations to the
Department of Criminal Justice (page XI-65)
      CONTIGENCY APPROPRIATION FOR HB 2123.
      Contingent on the passage of HB 2123 or similar legislation
that provides for reimbursing counties for housing state inmates
the sum of $16,351,720 is appropriated out of the Oil Field Clean
Up Account (Fund # 145) to the Department of Criminal Justice for
the State fiscal biennium ending August 31, 2001 for the purpose of
implementing the provisions of that legislation.
