Amend HB 826, in SECTION 5 (Senate Committee Report, page 7,
between lines 16 and 17), by inserting a new Section 2260.108,
Government Code, to read as follows:
      Sec. 2260.108.  DEFENSE BY ATTORNEY GENERAL. (a)  The
attorney general shall defend a unit of state government in a
contested case hearing covered by this chapter.
      (b)  The attorney general may settle or compromise the
portion of a claim that may result in state liability under this
chapter.
