DIGEST 

Currently, the deadline of summer visitation date notification for children
of divorced parents is May 1.  However, many organized summer activities
require notification of planned attendance prior to May 1.  H.B. 32 moves
the deadlines for notification of summer and weekend visitation dates by
the possessory and managing conservator of a child. 

PURPOSE

As proposed, H.B. 32 changes dates regarding written notice between the
managing and possessory conservator of a child as relates to standard
possession orders. 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state
officer, institution, or agency. 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1.  Amends Section 153.312(b), Family Code, to change dates
regarding written notice between the managing conservator and the
possessory conservator of a child for holidays, vacations, weekends, and
Wednesdays. 

SECTION 2.  Amends Section 153.313, Family Code, to change dates regarding
written notice between the managing conservator and the possessory
conservator of child, in the case of the possessory conservator residing
over 100 miles from the child's residence. 

SECTION 3.  Effective date:  September 1, 1999.  
  Makes application of this Act retroactive.

SECTION 4.  Emergency clause.
