This bill would authorize a judge or a clerk of a municipal court to administer an oath or to give a certificate of fact in a matter pertaining to a duty of the court. PURPOSE As proposed, H.B. 1274 authorizes a judge or a clerk of a municipal court to administer an oath or to give a certificate of fact in a matter pertaining to a duty of the court. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 602.002, Government Code, to authorize a judge or a clerk of a municipal court to administer an oath or to give a certificate of fact in a matter pertaining to a duty of the court. Redesignates Subsections (1)-(10) as Subsections (2)-(11), respectively. SECTION 2. Emergency clause. Effective date: upon passage.
