DIGEST 

In 1993, the guardianship and probate provisions of the Probate Code were
separated.  Provisions relating to guardianships were added in newly
created sections in the code, but provisions containing the same language
were left in Part 10, Probate Code.  This bill repeals Part 10, thereby
eliminating the duplication. 

PURPOSE

As proposed, H.B. 1662 repeals Part 10, Probate Code, to eliminate a
duplication of the statute. 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state
officer, institution, or agency. 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1. Repealer: Part 10, Chapter VIII, Probate Code (Investments,
Loans, and Contributions of Estates of Wards.) 

SECTION 2. Emergency clause.
  Effective date: upon passage.
