DIGEST 

Currently, the terms of the 50th District Court are set to begin on
different days in different months in each county within the judicial
district.  H.B. 2060 would synchronize the dates on which the terms of the
50th District Court begin in each county to the first Mondays in January
and September. 

PURPOSE

As proposed, H.B. 2060 synchronizes the dates on which terms of the 50th
District Court begins in each county in the district. 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state
officer, institution, or agency. 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1.  Amends Section 24.152(c), Government Code, to synchronize the
dates on the which the terms of the 50th District court begins in each
county to the first Mondays in January and September. Deletes certain
counties from certain other start dates. 

SECTION 2.Effective date: September 1, 1999.

SECTION 3.Emergency clause.
