The outsourcing of this process may enhance the quality of the continuing education courses and may also reduce the demands on board support staff. H.B.2382 requires the board to authorize licensee peer organizations to evaluate and approve continuing education courses in accordance with the established process. PURPOSE As proposed, H.B. 2382 sets forth requirements for the evaluation approval of continuing education for physical therapists. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY Rulemaking authority is granted to the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners in SECTION 1 (Section 16A(a), Chapter 836, Article 4512e, V.T.C.S.) of this bill. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 16A, Article 4512e, V.T.C.S., to require the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, by rule, to authorize licensee peer organizations to evaluate and approve continuing education courses in accordance with established process. SECTION 2. Emergency clause. Effective date: upon passage.
