SRC-JXG H.B. 2626 76(R) BILL ANALYSIS Senate Research Center H.B. 2626 By: Palmer (Harris) Intergovernmental Relations 5/4/1999 Engrossed DIGEST Currently, counties with a population of over 2.8 million, such as Harris County, can do construction, renovation, and maintenance projects on their own buildings without a city permit, if they use their own personnel. H.B. 2626 would allow counties with a population of 250,000 or more to proceed with construction and renovation work on county-owned improvements without a city permit, if they use their own personnel.
