H.B. 3775 includes a paramedic in the list of individuals who can be ordered to take this blood specimen. PURPOSE As proposed, H.B. 3775 includes a paramedic in the list of individuals who can be ordered to take a specimen of blood. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Article 49.10 (j), Code of Criminal Procedure, to expand the list of individuals who a justice of the peace is authorized to order to take a specimen of blood, to include a paramedic. SECTION 2. Effective date: September 1, 1999. SECTION 3. Emergency clause.
