DIGEST

Currently, Texas law provides for nine state holidays. C.S.S.B.107 would
designate a tenth state holiday declaring March 31 as Cesar Chavez Day.
Cesar Chavez was an outstanding national Hispanic labor and Chicano civil

and appreciate how farm workers' struggle led to greater freedom and
opportunity for all.

PURPOSE

As proposed, C.S.S.B. 107 designates March 31 as Cesar Chavez Day.
