Currently, Texas law requires a person to report abuse or neglect
conditions in a nursing home or other related institution under Chapter
242, Health and Safety Code. This bill repeals Section 242.1225, Health and
Safety Code, regarding an additional reporting requirement.
PURPOSE
As proposed, S.B. 109 repeals Section 242.1225.
RULEMAKING AUTHORITY
This bill does not grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state
officer, institution, or agency.
SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS
SECTION 1. Repealer: Section 242.1225, Health and Safety Code, (Additional
Reporting Requirement).
SECTION 2. Amends Section 242.066(f), Health and Safety Code, to make a
conforming change.
SECTION 3. Amends Section 242.0655(b), Health and Safety Code, to make a
conforming change.
SECTION 4. Emergency clause.
Effective date: upon passage.
