This bill would exempt hospitals and nursing homes from including the number "51" on the sign. PURPOSE As proposed, S.B. 131 exempts hospitals and nursing homes from displaying a sign in each entrance with the number "51" on its face. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 411.2024(b), Government Code, to require hospitals or nursing homes to prominently display a sign in each entrance to the hospital or nursing home with the number "51" on its face. SECTION 2. Emergency clause. Effective date: upon passage.
