DIGEST 

Currently, certain information submitted by potential suppliers to a
governmental body is excepted from a public information request, in
addition to other exceptions to the Texas Open Records Act. Specifically,
information contained in a potential vendor or contractor's application for
certification as a historically underutilized or disadvantaged business is
excepted.  S.B. 667 repeals the open records exception for certain
information in an application for certification as a historically
underutilized or disadvantaged business. 

PURPOSE

As proposed, S.B. 667 repeals a law relating to potential vendors and
contractors. 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state
officer, institution, or agency. 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1.Repealer:  Section 552.127, Government Code (Exception:  Certain
Information Submitted by Potential Vendor or Contractor). 

SECTION 2.Emergency clause.
  Effective date:  90 days after adjournment.
