DIGEST

Currently, the University of North Texas the University of North Texas
Health Science Center at Fort Worth operate under one board of regents;
have one chancellor over both institutions; have a president over each
institution; and meet the definition of a system as defined in the Texas
Education Code. However, the Education Code does not specify that the
institutions are part of a system. S.B. 751 clarifies the designation of
the University of North Texas System consistent with Sec. 61.003(10) of the
Texas Education Code.

PURPOSE

As proposed, S.B. 751 sets forth the composition of the University of North
Texas System.
