DIGEST

Currently, Texas Tech University and the Texas Tech University Health
Science Center operate under one board of regents with same chancellor, a
president over each institution, and meet the definition of a system in the
Texas Education Code. However, the Education Code does not specify that the
institution is part of a system. S.B. 1088 would create the Texas Tech
University System.

PURPOSE

As proposed, S.B. 1088 creates the Texas Tech University System.
