DIGEST 

Currently, the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center is
considering plans to provide for a long-term expansion necessary for the
achievement of its mission.  This bill would authorizes the board of
regents of the University of Texas System to acquire certain properties for
campus expansion and other university purposes. 

PURPOSE

As proposed, S.B. 1104 authorizes the board of regents of the University of
Texas System to acquire certain properties for campus expansion and other
university purposes. 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state
officer, institution, or agency. 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1. Authorizes the board of regents of the University of Texas
System (board) to acquire certain real property located in Harris County. 

SECTION 2. Authorizes the board to acquire certain property from the United
States.  Provides this section applies to certain property. 

SECTION 3.Emergency clause.
  Effective date: upon passage.
