DIGEST

Currently, Texas law authorizes public junior colleges to enter into an
agreement with a school district to offer courses to high school students
if the course credit meets a student's academic requirements for
graduation. However, many courses offered by public junior colleges may
benefit high school students even if they are not required for graduation.
S.B. 1352 will authorize public junior colleges to enter into agreements
with a school district to offer high school students courses if the courses
are not required by the school district for graduation.

PURPOSE

As enrolled, S.B. 1352 regulates course credits offered under an agreement
between a school district and a junior college.
