DIGEST

During the 75th Legislature, the Records Management Interagency
Coordinating Council (council) gained the responsibility of studying the
use, management, and protection of electronic state records. Thereafter,
detailed and valuable recommendations were developed; however, in order to
implement these suggestions, council member agencies require the ability to
hire additional staff to manage electronic records programs. S.B. 1390
creates and expands responsibilities and authority for the council,
effectively allowing the employment of additional staff.

PURPOSE

As proposed, S.B. 1390 creates and expands responsibilities and authority
for the Records Management Interagency Coordinating Council.
