DIGEST

Currently, Texas law caps bounties paid by county commissioners courts on
predatory animals at $20. In some areas, landowners have created private
bounty programs, and have asked the counties to match their contributions.
S.B. 1429 will remove that cap, allowing commissioners courts to pay
whatever they deem appropriate as bounties on predators.

PURPOSE

As enrolled, S.B. 1429 regulates the amount charged for bounties for
predatory animals.
