SRC-JJJ S.B. 1739 76(R) BILL ANALYSIS Senate Research Center S.B. 1739 By: Harris Jurisprudence 4/14/1999 As Filed DIGEST Currently, Texas law provides a calculation for computing the payment of arrearages, which is often impractical, especially for lower-income obligors with large arrearages. This leaves a judge in the position of either ignoring the guidelines or setting payments that may never pay off the arrearage.
