SRC-JJJ C.S.S.B. 1739 76(R)BILL ANALYSIS Senate Research CenterC.S.S.B. 1739 76R10274 CMR-DBy: Harris Jurisprudence 4/20/1999 Committee Report (Substituted) DIGEST Currently, Texas law provides a calculation for computing the payment of arrearages, which is often impractical, especially for lower-income obligors with large arrearages. This leaves a judge in the position of either ignoring the guidelines or setting payments that may never pay off the arrearage. C.S.S.B. 1739 would establish provisions regarding the withholding of child support arrearages.
