1-1 AN ACT
1-2 relating to parking of a commercial vehicle in certain
1-3 subdivisions.
1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-5 SECTION 1. Section 545.307(a)(1), Transportation Code, is
1-6 amended to read as follows:
1-7 (1) "Commercial motor vehicle" means:
1-8 (A) a commercial motor vehicle, as defined [has
1-9 the meaning assigned] by Section 522.003, and includes a vehicle
1-10 meeting that definition regardless of whether the vehicle is used
1-11 for a commercial purpose; or
1-12 (B) a road tractor, truck tractor, pole trailer,
1-13 or semitrailer, as those terms are defined by Section 541.201.
1-14 SECTION 2. The amendments made by this Act to Section
1-15 545.307, Transportation Code, apply in a subdivision for which
1-16 signs were posted under that section before the effective date of
1-17 this Act. This Act does not require the filing of an additional
1-18 petition under that section for such a subdivision.
1-19 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 1999.
1-20 SECTION 4. The importance of this legislation and the
1-21 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-22 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-23 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-24 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
